Sheriff: Witness to deadly stabbing arrested after police chase

PAYETTE, Idaho (KBOI) - A 32-year-old Ontario man who witnessed a fatal stabbing has been arrested.

Malheur County Sheriff Brian Wolf said Wednesday that Daniel Wilson was with Ketra Hale when she allegedly stabbed to death 26-year-old Mark Rogers.

Wilson had been wanted for questioning about the stabbing. On Tuesday, investigators were watching a home in Payette because it was thought Hale might be staying inside.

The sheriff says investigators saw a man going in and out of the house in a suspicious manner. Wolfe said when Wilson saw investigators he got into a vehicle and took off.

Police chased him around the Payette area and eventually crossed into Oregon where he crashed his car on Powerline Road. He was then taken into custody.

Wilson also has warrants from Payette, Canyon and Malheur counties.

Hale is still on the loose.
