ONTARIO, Oregon (KBOI) - Police say a 35-year-old Pocatello who was struck and killed by a train early Sunday morning was intentionally on the train tracks.
It happened just before 2:45 a.m. near the southeast 5th Avenue crossing in Ontario. Officers say they heard the train applying its emergency breaks. When they arrived on scene, the conductor told Ontario Police that the train had hit a person.
Police say 35-year-old Jole Guerrero, of Pocatello, was pronounced dead on scene.
Oregon State Police, Malheur County Sheriff's office, and Nyssa City Police Department all assisted Ontario Police in the search for Guerrero.
