NAMPA, Idaho -- Police arrested a Meridian woman Thursday night after they say she sped off from a traffic stop in the Idaho Center parking lot, dragging an officer behind her for 40 yards.
Officials said that Andrea Harris, 33, was booked at the Canyon County Jail on felony DUII, obstruct and delay, and aggravated battery charges.
The officer received minor injures and was treated at a local hospital.
According to Nampa Police, the incident started shortly after Harris was kicked out of the Uproar Festival Thursday night which was taking place at the Idaho Center. Witnesses reported seeing her get into a vehicle and try to drive out of the parking lot.
A Nampa officer walking through the parking lot stopped Harris and told her to turn her car off. When she refused, officials said the officer tried to get Harris out of the vehicle.
Harris then sped off with the officer hanging from the side of the car, dragging him nearly 40 yards before he was able to to get away.
Another officer eventually spotted Harris in another part of the Idaho Center parking lot and stopped her car, officials said.
Arresting officers found that Harris had a blood-alcohol content was more than double the .08 state legal limit. Officials said she had two prior DUII chugs over the past 10 years.
