Police: E. Idaho man in custody after pipe attack

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) - An Idaho Falls man accused of attacking another man with a copper pipe has been taken into custody.

KIFI-TV reports that police on Monday arrested 44-year-old David A. Weninger.

Police say he hit a 55-year-old man with the pipe, knocked him down and then struck him several more times.

Weninger faces charges of felony aggravated battery with use of a deadly weapon, domestic battery without traumatic injury, possession of a controlled substance and resisting officers.

He's been booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
