Police training at Bronco Stadium will have simulated gunfire
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - The Boise Police Department will conduct tactical training at Bronco Stadium Thursday to help them better prepare for protecting a large sports venue in case of emergency.

According to a release from Boise State University, the training is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m.

Police SWAT team members will be using training firearms and tactical equipment throughout the day.

People near the stadium may hear loud noises that sound like gunfire during the exercise. These sounds will be from simulated air munitions.

People nearby may also notice the area cordoned off with police tape and the BPD mobile command post stationed on the west side of the stadium.

There will be signs and reader boards posted throughout the area to inform people nearby of the activity.

The exercise is funded by the Department of Homeland Security.

The entire event is closed to the public and the media.
