BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- Ada County road crews could be busy this weekend.
Maintainance crews have spent the majority of Friday applying deicing treatments to major Ada County roads, intersections and bridges.
Pretreating in advance of the storm prevents ice from bonding to the pavement, creating black ice conditions, said Paul Daigle, ACHD's deputy director of maintenance. If the snow is unusually heavy, ACHD will use sand and salt to maintain traction and can bring out the snow plows if needed, he said.
"It's always better to get out in front of the weather than to try and play catch up," Daigle said.
A couple inches of snow could fall late Friday night and into Saturday morning.
