BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- The gas leaks in the Treaure Valley keep coming.
Two significant gas leaks were reported in the Boise area Wednesday, even prompting Idaho Power officials to shut off power to some 1,600 houses due to lightning from stormy weather.
The first gas leak occurred near Cole and Mountain View. Boise firefighters and other crews were on scene for several hours trying to fix the leak. Residents in four homes were evacuated, but have since been allowed to go home, BPD said on Twitter.
Boise PD said a backhoe operator inadvertently hit a gas main while working near the intersection.
A second gas leak has also been reported near Orchard Street and Interstate-84. Boise Police says Orchard was closed between Orchard and Interstate-84 after a construction crew caused a leak. It's unclear how long the road will be shut down.
Officials have evacuated 10 homes in the area, affecting about a dozen people.
Crews from the gas company have been busy this week. On Tuesday, there were two gas leaks reported in Boise. One near Ustick and Mitchell Road forced crews to evacuate about a dozen homes.
Boise Police emphasized residents to always call The Dig Line at 811 before you dig.
