BOISE- May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, and with summer right around the corner, you can expect even more motorcyclists out on the roads.

Even more so, a deadly motorcycle crash over the weekend is a reminder to stay safe on the roadways.

20-year-old Robert Michael Nersveen was killed Sunday after crashing at Fairview Avenue and Bryson Street.

If you're a motorcyclist, remember to wear proper riding gear, having your motorcycle tuned up and refresh yourself with Idaho's riding laws.

And for drivers, don't forget to share the road - all of it.

"We have a legal right just like a big SUV or a school bus or something like that," said Wayne Wierson, with the Idaho Coalition for Motorcycle Safety. "We have a right to the whole lane. And you need to share it with us. We'll ride in different parts of the lane depending on what we want to do."

It's likely you'll see more people on two wheels as warmer weather approaches, so be sure to keep a close eye on the roads.
