Selection Sunday sets Boise State in First Four game

BOISE, Idaho -- With a 21-10 record, the Boise State Broncos are headed for Ohio for a First Four game in the NCAA tournament.
The No. 13 seed Broncos, selected as an at-large team for the first time, will take on fellow No. 13 seed La Salle at the University of Dayton. Tip-off is set for 7:10 p.m. Wednesday (March 20).
The winner of the first four game advances face Kansas State in Kansas City.
Four other Mountain West teams were announced in the tournament on Selection Sunday; Colorado State, San Diego State, University of Las Vegas and New Mexico.
The announcement comes after a tough loss in the Mountain West quarterfinals to San Diego State.
La Salle's Explorers (21-9) lost 69-58 to Butler in the Atlantic 10 quarterfinals on Friday but got in on the strength of regular-season wins over fellow NCAA qualifiers Villanova and Butler.
Less Humanistic banter shoved down the student's throats there...and there are no taxes in Idaho if you really think about it...compared to say, other places to live that is.
Neither NNU or C of I are supported by my tax dollars.
My kids are already planning to go out of state for a quality education...as I could never convince them to go to Moscow for 2 years, let alone 4...ha, ha! Whether you graduate is not up to the institution, it is up to the individual. Best options in our area are NNU and C of I. Period.
See above.
Yes, I graduated from U of I, but also went to BSU---and my husband worked at BSU for 26 years. Sadly, BSU is focused on athletics---more than academics. The 30% graduation rate for BSU was mentioned in a letter to the editor in Sunday's Statesman.
I've got them Falling to #1 Gonzaga (my alma mater) in the Sweet Sixteen.
So sad that what should be a great day for BSU is rained on by small minded angry people with nothing better to do than attack a great accomplishment.
Broncos deserved the invite, and yes, they may actually advance - pretty good for a bunch of young kids. Nice to see fans in the third deck of the Taco Bell Arena this year! (obviously Shelley Eisele and your 4 likes - you weren't part of that...) Way to go Leon Rice!
One game at a time... Shelley, are you a U of I person? My daughter graduated from there, and it's a great university which I support.
Wait & see, take one game at a time. Go Broncos!!
At best, 1 game and done.
they'll lose to Kansas St if they make it that far
I'm also impressed with BSU's graduation rate of less than 30%---good to know we support what is really important.
Getting an invite was awesome for the program. I would love to see them make it to the sweet 16 and beyond.. One game at a time. The Broncos are such a young team , this is just a sign of great things to come. Go Broncos !!!
After watching them play the Aztecs---wondering how they possibly got the invite.
At this point I am just proud of them. GOOOOOOOO BRONCOS
