Road rage murder suspect found competent to stand trial

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- The man suspected of a road rage murder last year has been found compentent to stand trial, Ada County prosectuors tell KBOI 2News.

Shawn Fisher is suspected of shooting Matthew Mohler-Kerns in February of 2013.  The 28-year-old Boise man died of a single gunshot wound to the head.

Last year, Fisher had been found incompetent to stand trial and was ordered to attend a maximum security mental health program at the state prison. Today, however, a judge found him competent for trial, Ada County Prosecutors say.

His attorneys have asked for more time to go through the mental health evaluation. He will have another status hearing April 11.
