Crews get de-icer down before the morning commute
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Road Crews have been out in full force laying down de-icer before drivers hit the roadways.

Officials with The Ada County Highway District were out in full force Thursday night laying down de-icer on major roadways. Crews tried to get it down early because de-icer can become ineffective when it gets below 27 degrees outside.

Even though much of the snow is off the roadway police are still warning drivers to be cautious of the icy conditions. ACHD had to use 80,000 gallons of de-icer during Mondays snowfall. Which is half the amount used in all of 2012. Even though they still have enough supply on hand they did order 60,000 gallons of de-icer and salt from Utah which arrived Thursday.

With temperatures expected to be in the single digits by Friday night roads are expected to be slick.
