This seahorse sculpted by Rich Brown, Caldwell, took 1st in the 2012 State Sculpture Competition at the McCall Winter Carnival.

MCCALL, Idaho (KBOI) -  Artists had just about 72 hours to whittle their roughly 10 ft. tall blocks into whatever their imaginations could dream up. Now, the awards are in and the sculptures are on display.

“Never let’s you down when you come up here,” said Neal Squires, a Lewiston resident, while touring the eight sculptures brought to life in the state competition. Check out the sculptures >>>

Unlike the local competition, sculptors in the state contest are all given the same amount of snow and ice to work with, and the same amount of time to transform it.
