Star Police nab serial church burglar, sheriff says

STAR, Idaho (KBOI) -- A 32-year-old Star man has been booked on allegations he broke into a local church last year.

The Ada County Sheriff's Office says the Life Spring Church started reporting thefts back in November of 2012. It continued last summer with a separate report of vandalism.

A month later, Star Police says officers were called out to the church again after someone broke into the church, stole a soundboard, sprayed three fire extinguishers and defecated on a blanket.

Deputies were eventually able to collect enough evidence that led them to the arrest of Ryan Ballou, police say.

Ada Sheriff says they found the church's stolen goods at the house he was staying in on the 11000 block of W. 3rd Street. Ballou faces charges of grand theft and burglary.
