MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho (KBOI) -- An 18-year-old man has been charged with leaving the scene of an injury accident after his vehicle was hit by a moving train early Tuesday morning, police say.

Mountain Home PD says Christian Danter was driving an SUV when he drove the vehicle over an embankment and ended up on the tracks. He left the SUV and ended up walking home.

At about 3:30 a.m., a train hit the SUV, and operators then called 911. Police used the license plate to track down Danter who was at home when police arrived. He suffered minor injuries from the original crash.
