Sheriff: Child killed after father's pickup backed over him
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Officials are investigating an incident near Weiser involving a child being run over by a pickup truck.
Washington County Sheriff Matt Thomas says they received a call Tuesday evening at 5:42 p.m. from a man who said he had just run over his son with his truck.
When paramedics arrived they pronounced the 4-year-old dead.
The sheriff says the boy was trying to get into the bed of the pickup when he was backed over.
He says alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
The names of the father and son are not being released at this time.
The sheriff's office and Idaho State Police are investigating.
