BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Two people from Meridian have been sent to the hospital after a rollover crash on Interstate 84 Friday afternoon.

Idaho State Police say the crash happened just before 4 p.m. in the westbound lanes between the Maple Grove and Five Mile overpasses.

ISP says the driver of a 2008 Pontiac G6 was traveling westbound when she came upon slow traffic in front her.

The driver tried to swerve to the left to avoid rear-ending the car in front of her, ISP says, and lost control of the car, causing it to veer right across five lanes before crashing into a Jeep Wrangler.

ISP says the car then collided with the barriers on the right side of the highway and rolled.

The 44-year-old driver and 21-year-old passenger in the car were taken to Saint Alphonsus in Boise with unknown injuries.

Both were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
