Two killed in single vehicle crash on Highway 55 identified
BOISE, Idaho - Idaho State Police say that two people have been killed in a crash on Highway 55 Tuesday night.
The crash occurred about 7 p.m. at milepost 78, which is between Horseshoe Bend and Banks.
Authorities say they believe 86-year-old Howard Koskella of Donnelly was driving southbound on the highway when his vehicle left the road for unknown reasons. The vehicle then went down an embankment, rolled several times and came to rest partially submerged in the Payette River.
Both Howard and his passenger, 83-year-old Ethel Koskella, died at the scene.
Dispatchers say the road was closed while emergency crews responded.
