Who's paying for bus service when few riders are on board?
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - ValleyRide buses are easy to find on Treasure Valley roads - they're in operation six days a week.

But, it's not uncommon to see a bus with just a few people on board. So, who's paying for the service when so few passengers are on board? It's you, the taxpayer.

ValleyRide's service in Ada and Canyon counties costs nearly $20 million a year. Nearly $18 million of it is paid with taxpayer money. Ticket sales and ad space revenue only cover about $1.1 million.

Find out who's on the bus and how your tax dollars are fueling the service Thursday on KBOI 2News at 10 p.m.
