Woman, boy killed in nasty crash on Highway 55 identified

SMITHS FERRY, Idaho (KBOI) -- The Valley County Sheriff's Office has released the identities of the two victims who died in Monday's crash on Highway 55.

The sheriff says Michelle Lopez, 21, and Nathaniel Ortiz, 5, were killed in the crash. They both lived in Nampa.

Authorities say the driver, 25-year-old Juan Ortiz, is at a Boise hospital with serious injuries. Raphael Duran, 5, is also at a Boise hospital, but with critical injuries.

Police say Ortiz and Lopez were dating and had just spent the weekend in McCall. Nathanial Ortiz is Juan Ortiz's son.
