I too am a well read,educator. I am not stupid,I respect everyone's right to express themselves,but the billboard probably doesn't hurt Obama.Instead, it hurts the families and friends of the people that were wounded or died in Aurora. Maybe, we need to think beyond politics and be kinder as a whole nation to one another.

As far as him getting the Nobel Peace Prize, it was awarded to him for his work in strenghtening international diplomacy and cooperation between people and his work against nuclear weapons. They say even Obama was surprised he was chosen.

I used to live in Northern Idaho. Now, I am ashamed to admit that. As far as I can see Idaho has become a state filled with bigoted,obnoxious,unhappy,ignortant people. Of course not all.

Where was this billboard when Bush sent troops to Iraq? I didn't see these people comparing Bush to the killers at Columbine HS,or the 911 bombers.

I support the 1st Ammendment,but this has gone too far. President Obama deserves respect even if you don't like him,disagree with his policies or are a bigoted jerk!

If Romney gets into office,do you see him pulling us out of the war? How about giving billions more to defense and even starting a war with Iran?? Let's see if these malcontents put up a billboard comparing him to Hitler.

What can one expect from a population that has had too much of 'unsold' potatoes to eat. Definitely, this has got to change their thinking.

Americans stop cutting your noses to spite your face. Unemployment issues were caused by the Reagan Administration's policies that rewarded industries for moving their manufacturing operations and later service-related jobs overseas.

Amazing how sick the people are on this thread who think this is ok. Not even all of the victims of a terrible crime in OUR country have been laid to rest and you probably think god believes your repulsive behavior and insensitive comments are justified, don't you? Would it be the same if your 6 year old was murdered and you had to look at the killer's face made into some political maneuver? Everyone has the right to there opinion. and in my opinion the billboard is just wrong,  I find it very offensive because i would rather not see that guys face ( James Holmes) while driving down the road. the sign is dangerous, it can cause people to become very upset and cause lots of road rage and leave people distracted from the road. and if you like the sign that much go have one made and stick it in your front yard.

 

I live in Aurora, CO and am absolutely appalled at the insensitive billboard. These people are completely way out of line. I can't tell you how hard it is to be strong when your teenage son loses a friend simply because he went to a movie. I can't tell you how emotional it is when some of his friends are now afraid of the dark because they "were stuck in the movie theater in the dark and couldn't get out."... When your son is talking to someone who was shot in the neck, when you see a mom get carried off a high school football field during a memorial for her son who just graduated. When you're watching national news networks and suddenly see your son's good friends giving interviews and breaking down. When you talk with huge high school linebackers and listen to them get upset because they felt they should've somehow tackled a madman in full body armor and automatic weapons. When you feel guilty for being happy that your son told his friends that he was going to stay home and play with his little brothers because you know his friends' parents are at the hospital; and you think "Thank god it wasn't my son" while knowing full well it could've been. When your phone starts ringing off the hook at 2 in the morning because friends and  family from around the nation are calling to see if your child is ok and you have no idea what happened yet. It is so incredibly hard and my son wasn't even there, but his friends were. I don't even know what to say to their parents. How do you console someone when you're happy that your own child wasn't there? It just doesn't feel right.

 

This billboard is comparing a non-political horrific, evil murderous act to the political policies of the President of the United States. Regardless of political views, the people of Aurora, CO know this massacre had NOTHING to do with politics. And we were grateful when Obama visited us to represent the country's love and support for our healing. Yes, everyone has their right to their own opinion and they can keep their disgusting billboard up. But thank god not everyone is as repulsive as the creators of this travesty of a billboard.

This is going entirely too far...It's ignorance like this that caused the horrible killings in Colorado in the first place.  It's a sad day when this is aloud to happen.  Opinions are fine, but this is completely disgusting.  This is taking things too far.  

I'm concerned it could be taken as a subtle public invitation of violence towards our President--depicting a smug looking gunner next to the President of the United States--and that perhaps the Secret Service should be notified of the possible suggestion.  Over-the-top hyperbole can often appeal to the crazy as a signal of encouragement, and I think this unfortunate fact should be considered here.  We've already just had one nut from Idaho shoot at the White House; so, in light of that alone, we ought to be careful with our extremists.  And as far as giving the 1st Amendment carte blanc to everything, remember that it stops at "yelling fire in a theater..."

Only in America can idiots hide behind such blatant racism & call it a first amendment right! I didn't vote for Obama, and I think this billboard is disgusting.  The Ralph Smeed Foundation must be run by a bunch of brain dead morons who can't come up with adult arguments for their case, and instead have to resort to something a ten year old child would do.  Freedom of opinion is one thing - freedom to slander is another.  Far too much junk like this is spread on both sides, using the "free speech" clause as their reasoning.  No, their excuse is a lack of maturity and nothing more. 

We can only conclude that the CIA Is the United States terrorist group they are a civillian organiztion engaged in direct combat this is not even legal.

The CIA says we can't prove that the dead people werent terrorists so we count them as they are.

I think the Billboard speaks the truth! I want it to stay, and I LOVE IDAHO POTATOES!! They are the BEST! I swear to it!

Obama is an "Uncle Toms Cabin Leader" who bows to all the other leaders from other countries as if he was "their boy" rather than the leader of the "Greatest Nation" the world has seen in the last few centuries! He deserves respect by Americans, because he gives no respect to Americans. American black men have fought along side of whites to create and defend this Nation and "The Constitution" that Obama uses as toilet paper! The man is interested in his own gain and vanity! He deserves this Billboard! He earned it!

My shock was due to the insensitive nature shown towards the victims and their families both in that theater and our military, and the anticipated gratification you hope to receive at someone else expense.  The measure you had to go, to use the massacre of innocent people in a theater for political agenda to make what you thought was a good point. It was disrespectful to use that as you soap box / stepping stone. It is dishonorable to all those victims involved including the innocent these men, women and children in that theater and our honorable men and women in the military who stand at the forefront and willingly protect this country. Is there no honor, is there no compassion and apparently no shamed.

I was disagreeing on what the bill board said..still disagree with all my heart and soul, but I'm not calling for it to be torn down. In fact the longer it stays up, the more people can see the bigotry.
