BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- Improvisational genius Robin Williams often joked about his severe depression and alcoholism.
But it was no laughing matter, and ultimately caused him to take his own life.
Nina Leary with the Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline is saddened that despite so many clear warning signs, the beloved comedian and actor could not get help.
And she says there's a lesson that even with Robin Williams' fame, wealth, and adoring fans -- demons could still nest in his soul.
"I think suicide can hit everybody," she said. "Various personalities."
The Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline wants people to know help is literally a phone call away.
And it's never too early or too late too call.
What would Nina say to someone calling who is very depressed right now?
"Tell me what's going on," she said." What's going through your mind? I see a change in you? Can you share that with me?"
