EUGENE, Ore. – When Oregon plays Washington State on Saturday, you’ll be seeing pink.
The No. 2 Ducks on Thursday unveiled new one-off uniforms that will be worn to support breast cancer awareness.
Pink uniforms aren’t new to football, but the Ducks are perhaps the boldest. They’ll wear bright pink helmets in addition to pink cleats, socks and gloves.
“Cancer has touched so many lives and hopefully, together with Nike and the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, we can help create awareness and help raise money for the fight against women’s cancers,” said coach Mark Helfrich.
Some of the helmets will be auctioned off, with the proceeds going to the Kay Yow Cancer fund.
They’ll be autographed by Helfrich, Dan Fouts, Joey Harrington, Ahmad Rashad and Phil Knight.
