Childs confirmed via text message Sunday evening that his first pro football stop will be in San Diego with the Chargers.

Johnson is expected to have received the same sort of priority deal, but the terms of his deal were not confirmed.

Wide receiver Julian Hawkins signed a standard 3-year rookie free agent contract with the Dallas Cowboys. He said via email Sunday night, "I'm so excited right now, I'll find out more tomrrow about everything."

Former BSU tight end Chris O'Neill said via email that he's headed for Jacksonville on a tryout contract with the Jaguars. He heads south early this week, and is "Excited for the opportunity to showcase what these other teams passed on," he said.
