Payette won the first football playoff game in its school history, with a dominating 36-3 performance on the road over Kimberly. In an interesting note to the game, Kimberly kicked a field goal for the first time this season - resulting in its only points of the game.

Fruitland ran all over Wendell, with two Grizzly running backs over 100 yards each in the first half alone. 54 - 6 was the final in Grizz country.

Weiser avenged an early exit from last year's state playoffs with a big 28-7 win at Buhl.

Fruitland will host Orofino in the quarterfinal round - either Friday or Saturday.

Payette is likely to travel to play the winner of the Timberlake/Bonners Ferry game.

Weiser returns home in the quarterfinals and will host South Fremont.

In 2A, Nampa Christian survived a second-half scare from Grangeville to come back for a 22-19 win. Nampa Christian will get its second shot this year at the defending champion Parma Panthers, who beat the Trojans 40-6 in the regular season.

Lots of Friday Surprises in 1ADI - Notus upset Council 24-12, throwing the entire top of the division into chaos.

Idaho City beat Tri-Valley, and along with a Cascade victory over Horseshoe Bend, there is a four-way tie for first place (and two playoff spots) between Council, Notus, Cascade and Idaho City.

The four teams will meet Monday in Horseshoe Bend for a Kansas CIty playoff to determine who will represent district III at the 1ADI state tournament.
