MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) -Robert Turbin rushed for 124 yards and scored five times as Utah State defeated Idaho 52-49 on Saturday.
Turbin rushed for three touchdowns and caught passes for two more. His fifth TD, a 1-yard run after Utah State (4-8, 3-5 WAC) recovered an Idaho fumble, gave the Aggies a 52-42 lead with 8:46 remaining.
Diondre Borel threw for 369 yards and four touchdowns for Utah State.
Nathan Enderle, who completed 16 of 25 passes for 262 yards and three TDs for the Vandals (7-5, 4-4), went out with a shoulder injury early in the fourth quarter.
Backup QB Brian Reader hit Daniel Hardy for a touchdown to get Idaho within a field goal with 1:16 to play, but the Aggies recovered the onside kick.
Vandal coach Robb Akey told the Vandals Radio Network postgame show that he was disappointed in his team's inability to pull out a winable game at home, and was looking forward to the chance to play in Idaho's first bowl game since 1998.
"I'm hopeful, and expecting that we will be selected to play in a bowl game," Akey said.
