The Bishop Kelly girls basketball team won its first-ever state championship Saturday, beating Pocatello's Century High School 50-40 at the Idaho Center.

Senior Kindall Murrie had 13 points, nine in the first half, as the Knights raced to a 27-19 lead at the break.

Knight junior Raquelle Mouw, the team's leading scorer in both its previous state tournament games, added ten points and seven rebounds in the win.

It was the first visit to the 4A state championship game since 2008, a loss to Middleton.
