Same players, different result for Broncos

Same players, different result for Broncos
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - BSU's early season success might lead you to believe we're dealing with a completely different basketball team, but many of the key cogs are still the same.

It's just they've picked up another year of experience, and players like Jeff Elorriaga are coming into their own. The walk-on junior guard set a new school record with ten 3-pointers against Corban in late December, and doesn't show signs of slowing down.

"Just got the hot hand right now, and hopefully the other guys will get it too. They're getting me open looks and I'm hitting 'em, but it's mostly the guys getting me open. If you look, Drmic got me open the other day, and I'm just getting open and hopefully I keep getting open," said Elorriaga.

"You know, it's just crazy to look back now. Nobody recruited him, not even division II, NAIA, nobody did. But he came from such a good program that he knows how to play, and he's got this extraordinary toughness that is infectious," added head coach Leon Rice.

Elorriaga and the rest of the Broncos host Walla Walla Saturday night at Taco Bell Arena. They'll open Mountain West Conference play Wednesday night against Wyoming in Laramie.
