BSU: We have visited with the Big West - it is in their hands
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - The Boise State Broncos take a big step toward joining the Big West.

In a statement, Assistant Athletic Director of Media Relations Max Corbet said, "We have visited with the Big West about the future of our non-football programs and it is in their hands."

Big West Commissioner Dennis Farrell did not respond to a recent email, but when KBOI 2 Sports spoke with him in mid May Farrel said he sent a new member assessment tool to Boise State.

Bronco Athletics did not confirm or deny the completion of that tool, but given Max Corbet's statement it isn't hard to connect the dots.

According to conference bylaws, Boise State has until the end of June to notify the Mountain West they are, in fact, leaving. As we've reported, BSU is the only school expected to join the Big East Conference in 2013 that has not notified their current conference they'll be leaving.
