The MAACO Bowl has some advantages
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Boise State got their MAACO Bowl Las Vegas invite, and sent in the RSVP for the third straight season. Some members of Bronco Nation say they're bored with the bowl. Sure it might be monotonous ... there are advantages to playing in this game, namely the Pac-12 opponents.

The game gives Boise State fans a chance to see how their favorite team holds up against the conference they'd all like to be in, but doesn't have any plans of expanding in the near future.

This bowl game doesn’t get the cream of the Pac-12 crop, but they aren't cellar dwellers either, and Boise State's always excited to show they can compete.

"Without question. I mean those are the people that we're always running into out here in the West, and so I think that's great. Like I said, I think our appreciate and enjoy that," said head coach Chris Petersen.

"Yeah, excited, get to face a quality Pac-12 opponent. It's gonna be a good game to end the year on. I know they'll be ready, we'll be ready, and it'll be a good one," said junior quarterback Joe Southwick.

"These past couple of years we have actually with Utah, and Arizona State. I feel like this is going to be another good challenge for us, as is every bowl game. You know, that's why they're called Bowl games because only certain people make it there. So it's definitely going to be a war," said freshman defensive end Sam Ukwuachu.

You can watch the entire war live on ESPN. All the fun goes down three days before Christmas at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 pm (MTN).
