Could Coach Pete be a Cheesehead?

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Can't you just see Coach Pete wearing a hat made of cheese as he cheers on the Packers? Or how about walking the up and down the green-turfed sidelines of Camp Randall Stadium in Madison? According to the Wisconsin State Journal, it's possible.

An unnamed source close to the Wisconsin Athletic Department told the Journal that Badgers Athletic Director Barry Alvarez has already called Chris Petersen and set up an interview for as early as December 10.

If that's true, it's news to Boise State Athletic Director Mark Coyle, who told me Coach Pete hasn't made him aware of any upcoming interviews or interest in other jobs.

"With all due respect to you guys, that stuff just kinda gets out there whether it be in chat rooms and so forth. And this may sound strange, but I can't worry about that stuff, I can't control that stuff. The only thing I can do, is to make sure that we do everything we can to make this program go forward. And I honestly believe that Coach Petersen knows that we're committed to him and his program, and that culture he's created here," said Coyle.

We'll find out if that's enough in the coming days, weeks, months, and maybe even years. Can you honestly think of a time when Coach Pete won't be near the top of almost every athletic director's wish list? Me either.
