Choate & Hout start camp with Cougars

PULLMAN, Washington (KBOI) - Former Boise State special teams and nickel coach Jeff Choate took off for Washington State this off-season, but took one of his former players with him.

Byron Hout joins Choate in Pullman as their teacher-pupil relationship continues as Hout begins his coaching career.

"We are doing a lot of things similar that we were doing in Boise, defensively. And when I don't have to explain to him what needs to be done, I can just say it's this and he instinctively gets it, it really helps us in terms of just being productive on the defensive side of the ball. Byron's a great young man, and he's a North Idaho guy, so getting back up here is like getting home for him, too. So I'm excited about having him," said Choate.

Washington State starts their season in Provo, Utah against BYU on August 30.
