CALDWELL, Idaho – A total of 240 days separate College of Idaho fans and the debut of the school’s newly reinstated intercollegiate football team, as the Coyotes open their 11-game 2014 season on Sept. 6.

The Yotes will open the season on the road at Pacific University, returning to the Treasure Valley for their Simplot Stadium opener on Sept. 13, hosting Montana Western.

The opener in Forest Grove, Ore., will come 13,438 days between the final game played by the original C of I team on Nov. 12, 1977 – also against the Boxers. The Yotes were victorious in that final game, 24-23.

Mike Moroski, head coach of the College’s football team, said he and his team are excited to bring small college football back to Idaho.

“The support we’ve received from the College community and the entire state is tremendous,” Moroksi said. “We look forward to welcoming fans to our games next fall as we celebrate the return of C of I football.

In all, the Coyotes will play five home games and six road games, with start times at 1 p.m.

In 2014, C of I will play home-and-home series’ with Montana Western, Eastern Oregon and Southern Oregon, while playing home games versus Montana Tech and Montana State-Northern. The Yotes will also make road trips this season to Rocky Mountain and perennial NAIA power, Carroll College.

A highlight of the schedule is the Oct. 11 match-up against MSU-Northern, which will cap the C of I’s Homecoming week festivities.

A date for the initial sale of 2014 football season tickets will be revealed in the coming weeks.

More from Coach Moroski - "We are excited to unveil this most challenging schedule. Pacific University, who very nearly made the playoffs in 2013, is an old, old rival of Yote Football. The Frontier Conference is an elite NAIA Football Conference from top to bottom. Home games every other weekend will provide a great opportunity for our fan base to grow and become a factor as we continue to build this program. And Caldwell will be a superb place to experience and enjoy great quality College Football."
