Gem State football buddies continue to shine in Moscow
MOSCOW, Idaho (KBOI) - Idaho's Chad Chalich and Deon Watson have been playing football together for almost a decade. You might remember the quarterback-wide receiver tandem winning back-to-back Idaho 5A State Titles while playing for Coeur d'Alene high school.

Now, they look ready to continue that kind of success as redshirt freshmen in Moscow. Chad is well on his way to winning Idaho's starting quarterback job, while his favorite target is raising eyebrows.

"Man, he has. He's really come along. I mean every day, he just keeps making plays, making plays, making plays. He's had two really good scrimmages, does it every day in practice. He's a big physical kid, and it's just great to see. You know, it's great to see, and our depth at receiver is just kind of making you happier and happier all the time," said head coach Paul Petrino.

Watson followed up a five catch, 79 yard, and two touchdown performance in the first scrimmage with three catches, 84 yards, and two more touchdowns in the second.
