BELLEVUE, Wash. - Police are investigating an allegation that Seahawks' running back Marshawn Lynch may have been involved in an assault Sunday morning at a Bellevue apartment.

No arrests have been made so far.

Officers responded to the scene, an apartment in downtown Bellevue, at about 2:20 a.m. Sunday after receiving a report of an assault and personal property damage.

A woman at the apartment told officers that the suspect was Marshawn Lynch. No domestic violence or sexual assault was involved in the allegation.

The case has been assigned to a detective and is an active investigation.

"The Bellevue Police Department is in the process of gathering the facts of this alleged incident, including verifying whether or not Mr. Lynch was in fact involved," the Bellevue police said in a prepared statement.

The Seahawks did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
