Steelheads pull out game 6 in OT, win series
Andrew Carroll scored the game-tying and game-winning goals in the third period and overtime, powering the Idaho Steelheads to a 3-2 game six victory and 4-2 series win over the Colorado Eagles.

The goals were Carroll's first of the 2013 Kelly Cup playoffs, and came about four minutes of game time apart.

Friday's game in Boise did not start well for the sluggish Steelheads. Colorado scored the opening goal :57 into the game when the Eagle caught Idaho in a poorly-executed line change for a Brock Nixon goal.

Austin Smith tied the game a one midway through the second period with his fifth goal of the playoffs, but for the most part Idaho struggled to get pucks on net, getting out-shot 23-14 through the first two periods of play. Colorado grabbed a 2-1 lead with just over a minute to go in the period on a Trent Daavettila goal.

Idaho finally snapped out of its lethargic play in the third period, out-shooting Colorado 12-3 after the second intermission.

After tying the game on a power play with under three minutes to go, Carroll collected a centering pass from Tyler Gron and ended the series at 1:43 of overtime.

The Steelheads advance to the ECHL's Western Conference semifinals against Ontario beginning April 19 and 20 in California.

The series shifts to Boise starting April 24 and 26 for games three and four, and game five April 27 if necessary.
