The Idaho Stampede hoping for the same success on Thursday night as they had in their first ever NBDL draft a year ago. They were able to put together a team that came within one win of the championship game. Can they assemble a squad this season to go all the way?
Head coach Bryan Gates and the rest of the Stampede brain trust gathered in boise Thursday night for the "D" league draft. Idaho had the 4th overall pick in the first round. They selected Jamaal Tatum, a 6'1" 170 pound guard out of Southern Illinois. They took former Bronco Jason Ellis in the 6th round. Tatum and the rest of the new draft picks will join mainstays like Randy Livingston and Ricky Sanchez in Boise this season, to form what they hope is a championship team.
