EMMETT, Idaho (KBOI) - Bowling is more than just a hobby for KT Simpson, who is from Boise. She started bowling when she was three years old.
"My grandparents bowl, my parents bowl," Simpson said. "It's just kind of a family thing."
Bowling enabled Simpson to attend Pikeville University in Kentucky. The Bears are one of the top collegiate teams in the country. They've finished second in the nation the last two seasons.
"My goal right now is to focus on the national collegiate championship," Simpson said. "We've been real close the last two years so we are hoping to get it done this year."
Simpson has bowled a perfect 300 six times. She heads back for her junior year at school. Simpson was an NAIA All-American last year and is majoring in Business.
Most recently, Simpson finished third out of more than 600 bowlers to be selected for the U.S.A. Junior National Team. The team recently competed in Hong Kong but Simpson isn't sure yet where she will get to compete.
Simpson bowls at KT's Lanes in Emmett when she is back home. Her parents, both bowlers, bought the alley in 2010 and named it after their daughter.
