BOISE - Between basketball contracts, Idaho Stampede center Lance Allred writes. And writes. And writes some more.
His first book, an autobiography called "Longshot: The Adventures of a Deaf Fundamentalist Mormon Kid and his Journey to the NBA" is bring re-released in paperback this May, and Allred told me there are on-going negotiations to make the story into a movie.
Allred also told me there have been suggestions as to which hollywood celebrity would play the 6'11" basketball player.
"I like to think my features are good enough for the silver screen, but they suggessted two guys. One was Chris Klein, the guy from American Pie, the other one is Jared Padalecki from Supernatural," Allred said.
When asked who he'd pick if he had his choice?
Brad Pitt.
Allred is working on three other books, including a sequel to 'Longshot.' He returned to the states in December from Italy after playing with two different teams there, and returned to the Stampede this past week.
