Hawks snap Volcanos' 8-game winning streak
Jacob Hannemann broke a 2-2 tie with a go-ahead RBI in the top of the ninth inning, as the Boise Hawks beat Salem-Keizer 3-2 Monday night.

The win is Boise's fifth straight and snaps Salem-Keizer's eight-game winning streak.

Danny Lockhart lined his third hit of the night with one out in the Boise ninth, before moving to second on a passed ball. Hannemann then lined an Armando Paniagua 3-2 pitch into left, with Lockhart scoring easily to break the 2-2 tie.

In the bottom of the ninth, Matt Iannazzo worked around a two out single, picking off the Volcanoes player at first base to end the game and earning his second save in as many nights.

Boise starter James Pugliese threw six innings, the longest outing of any Hawks pitcher this season, but took a no-decision.

The Hawks are three games behind Salem-Keizer in the NWL standings. Game 2 of the series is tomorrow night, with Paul Blackburn meeting Joe Kurrasch at 8:45 p.m. PST.
