Canyon County Historical Society will present its 5th annual Old Fashioned Tea and Historic Style Show at the Masonic Event Center (320 11th Avenue South, Nampa, Idaho) from 11 AM to 1 PM on Saturday, April 5th, 2008.
This year’s theme is “Threads through Time.” The Dewey Palace Hotel will be remembered and framed photos and paintings of the hotel, Colonel and Belle Dewey will grace the room. Each guest will receive a tea favor with a gold stamped impression of the original Dewey Palace Hotel logo. Participants will once again be treated to a delightful variety of catered delicacies and the ever popular Bigelow premium blend tea.
Wendy Miller, Director and Curator of the Canyon County Historical Society Museums will present a lively fashion show of clothing from the 1860’s to the 1960’s which will include women’s, children’s and men’s apparel. An additional element in the event this year will be a slide show of historic photos from the Canyon County Historical Society archives featuring Canyon County residents in days gone by.
A silent auction of special items and gift certificates from Canyon County businesses will provide additional ways for people to participant in this important fundraiser. All proceeds will be used to preserve historical clothing, quilts and other textiles from Canyon County’s past.
Tickets for the tea and style show are $22.00 for Canyon County Historical Society members and $24.00 for non members. Tickets can be purchased at the following locations:
