June 22, 2011 Radical Lightning Storm

I know this story is a couple years late but I love sharing these pictures with people. On June 22, 2011 a crazy rain and lightning storm hit the Treasure Valley. I've always wanted to try to get some lightning pictures so I called up my friend and off we went to downtown Boise. We went to the top of the parking garage across the street from the Centurylink Arena. The lightning was far away at first and we could only see the clouds light up. After a while with the storm getting closer and closer we eventually saw the lightning bolts. We became surrounded by lightning. At the same time behind us was a lightning storm that was in the mountains behind the US Bank high rise. A little while later we had to get into the car because it started to rain and thunder right above us. It was quite the experience and I hope to get even more photos of crazy weather here in Idaho.

Those are great shots! I remember taking a bunch of lightning shots a couple years ago and I just checked they are also from 6/22/11! I will post a few of the better ones.
