Hi my name is Randy Anderson
This is I at 43 years old; I have been trying to get into the Idaho State Police for a long time now. Just a few months now I got back from Iraq, and I have been in the Marine Corp. I have taking the test and scored high on it and taking the PT test and score really high on it I even lap a few recruits, that I found out later that they higher them over me. There is more to story then that; I have a couple of resisting back in 86 just a fine a Misdemeanor. That is not the bad part here in Idaho if you get charge with some thing and it is not you who didn’t it is still a conviction in Idaho eye. It was this that they said that I lied about, I had my Sister car and in the glove box was her prescription they charge me with them and then drop it because it was her. This dismissal in Idaho tells them that you our guilty in their eye. I don’t wont to be an ISP any more, but for them to say that I was lying that is wrong. And for me to be able to go Iraq for Idaho and the USA but not meet there stander. Am I just so naïve to believe that you our innocent

Randy-THANK YOU for serving this great nation. As an imigrant (with English as MY 3rd language) please just take your time, re-write this, and don't be nervous. We applaud your service and you have a beautiful family. Good luck and THANK YOU again!

While Randy's writing skills are obviously a major drawback, I suspect that his age has more to do with it. A 43 year-old military veteran, despite his physical ability and weapon proficiency is not exactly what ISP wants. If he was 23, maybe..

What is important... that the state employ someone who is fit and can handle a weapon better than most new recruits; or someone that knows about the law and can be trained to use a weapon? Be a true USA citizen and sue the state! It's your right!

As an ex-newspaper reporter from another state who has read many police reports, I would have been blessed to get a report with this level of English usage. Just because an officer looks professional, doesn't mean the writing is. I know, I've seen it

Randy, thanks for serving our country. But if you are trying to get public sympathy you really need to understand that most people see the negative first. Your article had so many mistakes that most will not look past that and see the good.

ISP and other law enforcement entities want college graduates more and more now. And with CLEAN redords. So with all of his tactical and firearm training, he has no knowledge or experience in Criminal Justice. All-sew, he knot rite so gud. (ouch)

Sorry, you probably made a good grunt soldier, but we need more intellectual capacity in the officers that patrol our streets/highways/neighborhoods. Your English/reading comprehension skills are clearly sub-standard, and that's just not acceptable.

Hey Marine, use your GI bill to go to one of our community colleges that has post certification. Once you are certified as a law enforcement officer then try again. You can get an associates degree and certified at the same time. Semper Fi Jack

I thought typing in all caps lock went away in the early 90's. Apparently, it's still running rampant in Idaho. I think this guy's use of the language is incredible. You can't argue with crazy.

Maybe they are thinking of the forms that will be needed to be filled out and the fact that incorrect spelling etc. may be a basis to let the crooks off ?? Maybe you thought you filled out your tests correctly but the words you used were wrong.

Well as a person of law enforcement and a soldier I can not agree with you. Report writting is very important. Can pay a ticket if you cant read it. Also it says on the background check to disclose any conviction or dismissal from birth to that point

Good Lord man. Next time have someone check your work. I know they have a writing portion on the test. Perhaps that is the reason you didn't get the job. As for the lying part, they give you a chance to tell EVERYTHING. You should have done it.

This man is not qualified to be a cop. He may be a good soldier, but police work requires more than physical ability. I would hate to try to read an arrest report that he wrote. If English is not his 1st language, he needs more schooling.

My son and a nephew are Marines, and both graduated high school in the top of their class. (Different states, different educational standards). Perhaps in the frustration of the situation typing and correct sentence structure became unimportant.. .
