BOISE – In a tough economy sometimes it’s hard to spend hundreds of dollars getting those beauty treatments.

Haircuts can run anywhere from $20 to $60 and when you add color you spill into the triple digits.

If you want to save money and keep up your style check out a local beauty school, you can chop your bill in half.

The Boise Scott Lewis beauty school is packed most days of the week.

“I’ve been coming here for five years,” said Clara English, a loyal customer. “Boy I tell you it’s a special privilege.”

Teachers say their student s have opportunities to learn from the best Hollywood and runway stylists.

Many of the students are getting ready to head to a salon of there own and they know the drill.

You can get your hair cut for just $10 and color starts at $25, just a fraction of what you would pay in a regular salon.

Many people may be hesitant to hand over their hair to a student, but instructors say you won’t be disappointed and neither will your pocket book.
