Vin Crosby returns to KBOI 2 News as the Morning Meteorologist/Anchor.
Vin has been broadcasting the weather for the Treasure Valley as a Chief Meteorologist since 1999 including three years at KBOI from 2003 to 2006. In 2007 he founded a national weather forecasting web site for weddings called BridalWeather.com and still forecasts for it today.
Before coming to Idaho he worked in Raleigh, North Carolina as a morning weather anchor and weekend weather anchor/reporter from 1995 to 1999. He was featured nationally several times broadcasting from the beaches of North Carolina during land falling hurricanes.
From 1993 to 1995 he worked at The Weather Channel as a radio meteorologist and a forecaster. His job was to work with the team analyzing the weather, create the forecast and the maps, and brief the on air talent.
In 1991 to 1993 he worked for ETC or ElectronicTele-Communications in Atlanta preparing two day forecasts for 400 cities across the country including Mountain Home and Pocatello.
Vin graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology from Plymouth State University, New Hampshire in 1991 where he also played four years on the baseball team. He was born and raised in Johnston, Rhode Island and graduated high school in 1987.
“The greatest thing to happen in my life was dedicating my life to Christ in the late 90s.” Vin has a son in college and daughters in high school and elementary school. “Our house is never quiet and we like that most of the time!” They live out in Nampa.
Vin loves to fly-fish and he started hunting here in Idaho in 2005 and fell in love with that too! He also enjoys skiing, trying to ride a horse, being outdoors, and spending time with the family!
