Event Description

The "Treasure Valley Dog Shows" is pleased to announce our 55th annual AKC licensed all-breed dog shows in Boise on October 14 - 17 at Expo Idaho. Approximately 140 different breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC) will be competing in Conformation, Obedience and Rally all four days and Agility Friday through Sunday. The Treasure Valley Dog Shows also will be among one of the first Clubs in the nation to allow mixed-breed dogs to compete in the Companion events of Agility, Rally, and Obedience. As part of the new AKC Canine Partners Program mixed-breed, dog owners can list their dogs with AKC and compete alongside purebred dogs in AKC Obedience, Rally and Agility for the same titles and awards. Not only is this a fun activity for families but it is the perfect place to talk to breed experts about training, grooming or choosing the right breed for your lifestyle and family. An AKC dog show is a great place to start your search for a responsible breeder of a purebred puppy.

Admission for spectators is only $5.00 per person or $10.00 per family, parking is free. Bring your family and have a fun day watching your favorite breed of dog competing for prizes. Please leave your family pets at home because only dogs entered in the AKC events are allowed on the Expo Idaho grounds.

Beautiful sites at the Sawtooth mountain range during the end of summer. Mt. McGowen is easily viewed not far from Stanley, at Stanley lake. The viewpoint of the whole Sawtooth range is located several miles south of Stanley. The Salmon River winds along the Highway in front of the range.
