Daughter Turns in Boise Murder Suspect
27 years ago, Judy Gough's daughter allegedly watched and helped conceal her stepfather's murder at their home on Clark Street.
Court documents from a probable cause hearing shed some light on what may have happened on that day in 1980. Gough's daughter told Boise Police that her mother drugged Ford by putting sleeping medication in his ice cream. Then, she allegedly shot him with a rifle. "She was tasked to help her mother move him on a sheet down the hall and place him in a trunk," says a Boise Police detective.
Gough's daughter says Gough then buried Ford in the backyard. Police found human hand and foot bones there last Friday.
In a taped phone conversation between Gough and her daughter, Gough allegedly admitted to the crime. "Judy made acknowledgments that she'd killed Lloyd Ford. She stated that she did it because she was afraid and she was trying to protect the family," continues a Boise Police detective.
The Boise Police Department says this is a new case that has never been investigated by law enforcement. However, that does not mean there weren't any questions about Ford's disappearance.
Police say Ford's daughter from a previous marriage contacted Gough about her father's whereabouts after he stopped paying child support. Gough allegedly told her that Ford ran off with another woman.
Gough is being held in the Ada County Jail on $500,000 dollars bail. Her next court appearance is October 15th.
