Drive Drop & Donate

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - It's time to Drive, Drop and Donate, Treasure Valley!

KBOI TV is teaming up with Bronco Motors, RC Willey, The Idaho Press-Tribune, Ultra Touch Car Wash, Craig Swapp and Associates and Idaho Athletic Club for the 5th annual Drive, Drop and Donate campaign - the annual food collection drive that helps restock the shelves at the Idaho Food Bank.

The food drive will take place on Thursday, April 12 from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. at various locations throughout the Treasure Valley. ** Donate Now **

"We are excited about this day-long event that provides awareness and resources to our partners at the Idaho Foodbank," said Eric Jordan, KBOI-TV general manager. "While we see the local economy begin to rebound, we know there are still many families in need and that hunger is a real issue."

We will be collecting non-perishable food items as well as taking monetary donations for the Idaho Food Bank. The collection effort will be broadcast throughout the day on KBOI-TV, Channel 2 and CW 2.2. You may look for additional coverage on KBOI2.com and on the station's Facebook page.

The Idaho Food Bank and their statewide network of partner agencies provided 10.57 million pounds of emergency food to families, children and senior citizens during 2011.

That works out to 8.8 million meals for hungry Idahoans and represents a 90 percent increase in food distribution since 2008. Obviously, there is a great need for this food.
