Police: Boise man tried to sell stolen golf clubs on Craigslist
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Police say they have a arrested a man who stole more than two dozen sets of high-end golf clubs from garages in Eagle.

Eagle Police say they received the first report on April 25 from a homeowner who told them a set of clubs had gone missing from her unlocked garage.

Since then, police say they have received 25 reports of stolen club sets taken from unlocked or open garages near Banbury Golf Course and in the area of Highway 55 and Floating Feather Road.

Investigators say they found multiple advertisements on Craigslist selling similar clubs to those that were reported stolen, and tracked the ads to Stephan Northness, 31, of Boise.

Police say they found multiple stolen golf clubs in Northness' possession when they went to speak to him in early August.

Northness is on felony probation. Officers say they arrested him on August 6 on a parole violation charge and booked him into the Ada County Jail.

The Eagle Police Department says after detectives finished their investigation, they turned the case over to the Ada County Prosecutor's Office, which then obtained a warrant from a judge to charge Northness for the stolen clubs.

Northness faces five counts of burglary and five counts of grand theft.

He is being held on $100,000 bond.
