Police arrest Boise man wanted for almost hitting officers with his car
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Garden City Police say they have arrested a 24-year-old Boise man who nearly struck an officer with his vehicle before tossing a 12 gauge shotgun out of his vehicle.

Police say the alleged incident began when officers spotted Brenon Lee Lawrence speeding Tuesday night in an Isuzu Rodeo on East 44th Street.

A few minutes later, officers conducted a traffic stop. It was there, police say, that Lawrence sped off in the Isuzu and almost struck GCPD officer Tyler Domeny.

"Officer Domeny had to push off of the vehicle to avoid being struck," police said in a news release.

Authorities say Lawrence was spotted driving through a residential yard without the headlights on. Police later found a cell phone and 12 gauge shotgun that had been tossed from the vehicle near 49th and Field Streets.

Thursday evening, police say they got a tip that Lawrence was at a residence at 2491 Hilton in Boise. Officers arrived and were able to place him under arrest without incident.

He is expected to be arraigned Friday on charges of felony aggravated assault on an officer as well as eluding and driving without privileges.

His bond has been set a $500,000.
