Nearly 30 years after the world was introduced to Axel Foley, reports say there will be another installment of the 1980s classic police comedy series, "Beverly Hills Cop." And yes, Eddie Murphy will star in it.
According to Deadline, interest in a reboot of the series, which stars Murphy as a tough, savvy Detroit police officer who finds himself in Los Angeles, increased when CBS passed on a pilot for a television series based on the films.
Producer Shawn Ryan confirmed via Twitter that the film was under way.
"Good news for fans of franchise is that the pilot tested so well, it has caused Paramount to put another #BHC movie into development."
"Beverly Hills Cop" launched Murphy's international career, and earned him award nods from the Golden Globes and the Academy.
